Peace Run 2018

A special event was held in Rome on 21 st September 2018 to mark the United Nations International Day of Peace.

Five thousand peace-drawings from children of 35 countries around the world were displayed around and inside the perimeter of the Colosseum in Rome.

The paintings on the theme “Peace means sharing joy, are a visual expression of the children's dreams for a better world.
The exhibition, titled Colours of Peace, is an initiative conceived by the Peace Run in response to a United Nations resolution encouraging public events to celebrate the International Day of Peace.

The exhibition was officially opened with a special ceremony inside the Colosseum Arena, inviting schoolchildren, state officials, diplomats, representatives of different religious faiths, and personalities from the world of culture and sport.

The ceremony also featured an award presentation for the winners of the Peace Movie Award, an international competition under the patronage of the Italian ministries of Education, Universities and Research; and Cultural Heritage and Activities.
As part of the competition, schools around the world contributed video clips of 30 seconds or under, defining and celebrating peace in their own way. Bismark Nii Kojo Adjei - member of Sathya Sai International Organisation of Ghana – was the winner at 1st place - Cat. Open.
