Here is a group of family value games that can strengthen your family ties and help you spend quality time with your children and other family members. These games are aimed not only to invigorate your children, but elders as well.

The system of family values is a common work of many family members throughout their time. Due to this system, our forebears are still living with us. Their life experiences and stories create our life support and show us the way to follow. Besides leaning on the family value system that has been created by many generations, we should also be creative and connect personal experiences with the given inheritance.

Our family value system is constantly challenged throughout our lives, particularly in times of individual crises and big social changes. General values, like love, non-violence, truth, peace and proper conduct cast always a good light on our life path, but we have to “translate” them, namely, to put them in the context of our lives in order to make them alive. The best attitude is the one in which the family past is respected, the present time is lived actively, and where a responsibility towards the future is maintained.

Here is a group of family value games that can strengthen your family ties and help you spend quality time with your children and other family members. These games are aimed not only to invigorate your children, but elders as well, who are overwhelmed by worries about children, money, business, state affairs and pressure to do as many tasks as possible in a short period of time. These games are based on different dynamics. Between the beginning and the end of an initiated process, there is seemingly an empty time period in which you don`t have to do anything, but to daydream and let the answers arise from the deeper parts of your being, almost by themselves. Therefore, when you decide to “play” some of the games, do not rush, give yourself ample time and follow your inner feelings.

STORYTELLING: The tradition of transmitting noble ideals and life experience through storytelling is common to all cultures. Stories, fairy tales and popular legends, are a means of entertainment, moral education and cultural preservation and provide models of human behaviour, faith and wisdom. This polyvalent teaching method fosters: language and listening skills, new vocabulary, knowledge, mental keenness, sensitivity, creativity, relaxation, and also a sense of humour.

Value based stories connect the child/and or reader in general, to ideal behaviour and exemplary living. A good story captures the imagination and engages the heart and intellect in a dynamic process of making meaning and relevancy in one’s life, raises questions and triggers group discussion. Short stories are easy to remember for both the narrator and the listener. If you want to capture attention and keep the listener interested use the present tense, and “Love the story you tell!”.

A small, daily gesture can make big changes happen, especially when we add awareness and care to what we do. This holds true for any aspect of daily life, but is especially important when it comes to promoting sustainability and ecological understanding. To encourage future generations to cause minimal damage to the environment, and to find concrete ways to help and protect Earth, our home, and all forms of life harbored on the Planet, means sowing good deeds, and seeds of goodness.
